James Corden and Rose Byrne in talks for new Peter Rabbit

Having recently taken the US by storm with his chat show antics, Brit export James Corden is in negotiations to voice Beatrix Potter’s famous bunny in a live action/CGI adaptation, directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends With Benefits, Annie). Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day’s Rob Lieber is on script duties, while Rose Byrne (who played Grace in Gluck’s Annie) is in talks for an as yet unnamed, non-CGI role.

Sony’s version is apparently set to revolve around the young buck and his ongoing war with big garden enthusiast, Mr. McGregor – let’s just say Peter likes the taste of Mr McG’s parnsips.

Corden will next be heard in DreamWorks’ Trolls, and can currently be seen pretty much everywhere after striking viral gold with The Late Late Show’s Carpool Karaoke. Byrne will also next be heard, not seen, for DreamWorks, in Chris Miller (Shrek) and Tim Minchin’s Larrikins.

Gluck will next direct Jackpot, starring Mila Kunis, Armie Hammer and Bryan Cranston, based on the 2011 Norwegian adaptation of Jo Nesbø’s bestseller.
