Would you believe, it's been five years since four Empire staffers crammed into a tiny, grey, lifeless pod booth and waffled on about films to spawn the Empire Podcast. Since then, we've clocked up over 17 million listens, numerous Spoiler Specials, hundreds of famous guests – and now, this week, our milestone 250th episode. To mark such an auspicious occasion, we returned to our old pals at the Prince Charles Cinema in London's Leicester Square, for a sold-out live recording.
Our special guest on the night: the writer, director, raconteur and friend-the-pod Christopher McQuarrie. After the near-legendary three-hour Spoiler Special interview he recorded with us for Rogue Nation, it seemed only fitting to invite him back for a funny, frank, and fascinating hour-long conversation on Mission: Impossible 6's progress, his decade-long collaboration with Tom Cruise, and how The Usual Suspects was saved by a fart.
